Transformation

'Transformation' is a photograph showing a line of butterfly pupae in the hatching cabinet in the Tropical Butterfly House at the National Botanic Gardens of Wales. The pupae are imported and then glued to the wooden pole inside the hatching cabinet until the transformation from caterpillar to butterfly is complete. When the butterflies emerge they are released into the Tropical Butterfly House.
